The Visioneer Strobe XP 450 PDF Scanner is an ideal solution for business users who need a fast document scanner with a small footprint. It scans up to 20 ppm at 200 dpi in black and white mode. You can scan to PDF with the PaperPort Deluxe 9 document and image management software. Turn your scanned document into editable Word, Excel or text files with a simple drag and drop on to PaperPort's SendTo Bar. The scanner's OneTouch technology allows you to send a scanned image or document to any application for which there is a PaperPort Link. Edit, retouch and enhance images simply and quickly with ArcSoft PhotoImpression and apply special effects with the point-n-click interface. The XP 450 also comes with numerous templates for cards and calendars and a FormTyper, which automatically recognizes the fields in a scanned form; simply tab and type to neatly fill in the information. Print the filled-in form and PaperPort automatically saves an electronic copy for your records. The Strobe XP 450 PDF attaches via a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface, achieving data transfer rates up to 60 Mbps.

I was anxious to try out this speed demon
(I have tons and tons of material to
digitize) It installed easily and I was
off to the races - however, my
enthusiasm was soon curtailed. As I
fiddled with it, it soon became apparent
that there was no way to completely
eliminate the white streaks which appear
in the scan. I supoose this is par for
the course - all the other sheet feed
scanners I have used exhibit the same
problem. If it used only for scanning
text documents this may be no big deal ,
but with graphics it is very disappointing.
