Best Picture I have seen yet.

I was originally looking at the XBR2, but the XBR4 had significant improvements. The XBR2 was one of Sony's first large LCD lines so there were lots of little kinks as expected. Sony improved many things doubling the refresh rate to 120 to help smooth out fast pace video, went from a 8 to 10 bit panel for better color, increased the contrast ratio for a slightly deeper black, added the latest HDMI 1.3 which adds tremendous quality capability for future input sources and is supported by the PS3, and SUPPOSEDLY fixed the clouding problem (my XBR4 has some slight clouding, I called Sony and the guy told me that it didn't, cause they fixed the problem on the XBR4. Wrong! However, on mine, it is only noticeable at slight angles and at night with lights off.)
No pixelation like everyone claims about lcd's. I researched for 3 months, and was set on a dlp, but their viewing angle is horrible. Everyone says plasmas are better, but they still have burn in, tremendous glare, and the picture quality and brightness supposedly decrease with age. A tv repairman told me that for every 1 dlp he fixed, he fixed 10 plasmas, and for every 1 lcd he fixed, he fixed 10 dlp's. 1 lcd for 10 dlps and 100 plasmas broken. Ugh.
I use all 3 hdmi's with hd cable, ps3, and my computer. Every picture is great, even standard def, which will be no more in a few years. Madden08 and TigerWoods08 are ridiculous in 1080p off the ps3, and you can see fingerprints on the shot glasses in the bar scene in Pearl Harbor.
Overall, with the slight clouding and so-so support, i give the kdl46xbr4 a 9 of 10. BUY THIS TV, but PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE not from NEWYORK.
