I purchase two HP G4050 to scan some paper documents, receipts and my slides. At first, I was happy with the clean look of the scanner then became dissapointed with their software and the poor performance of the dust and scratch removal. If you have have old negatives and slides this is a very desirable feature.
Ms Lori Davis of Ziff Davis review was correct about HP GUI. It definetely has issues. Mr. David Stone of PC magazine gave it 7 stars out of 10. This means it not a stellar performer.
I made the decision to returned my scanners and go with the Epson brand.. After two weeks of scanning, I am realizing I made the good dedcision.
