SATA drives are measured in bytes, not bits. A 150 megabyte/s SATA hard drive would use around 1.5 gigabits/s of network bandwidth to transfer.So it would seem that the switch is not as fast as advertised, but every component in the system can cause slowdown (computer, cables, switch, etc)
