If you can't afford Pioneer's CDJ 1000, then I strongly recommend the CMX 3000. Its ease of use and design make it a great companion for the club and mobile DJ. I've used the 3000 for about a year now without any problem. It reads CD, CD-R and sometimes CD-RW. Do not use a colored CD-R since it may not read it. The beat synch feature is not as good as in the Numark CDN-90 but other than that is an excellent unit for the money.
