This first thing I saw when I looked at this machine at the store was its large paper output tray. I have copied about 160 at once and they all laid in the tray without any jamming, in fact there was still a slight drop from the output. I was also impressed with its speed. At 30 pages per minute, it is the fastest machine I could find in this category. The real test was when I brought it home. It is much lighter and easier to use than the Canon D860 I had tried a few weeks before, and prints/copies almost twice as fast. I have been very happy with the 8860DN and have used all of the features. I have used it for color scanning, text scanning and OCR, faxing, copying, and printing. It has integrated seamlessly into our existing workflow while saving space and time. The auto document feeder works smoothly for single sided and double sided documents, and the standard duplex printing/copying feature is a definite plus. The only weakness is in the multi-purpose paper tray, which seems a little flimsy. The paper path in printing and scanning is fully accessible should there be any jams, but this machine has output over 2000 pages so far and I haven't had a single jam. I think Brother must have totally redesigned the print engine and paper path from previous models that complained of frequent paper jams and undesirable page curl. If you look carefully you can detect a slight page curl at the top edge of the pages, but it is almost unnoticeable. Overall, I think this is a fantastic machine and seems well built. The paper tray is easy to refill and is not flimsy like the Multi-Purpose tray, and nothing like Canon D860 paper tray.
