I used this device with a screen recorder to write and record math lectures. (When the recorded file is played back it appears as a narrated hadwrittten lecture similar to what one sees on a class room black board.) It does a very good job in this regard. The bundled software OfficeInk is good but can be improved for the academic market. I have not used the device for art related activities or picture editing. A good starter before you buy a tablet PC or Adesso's own M17 which let you write directly on screen.
